Hello all!
Thanks for hangin' in there. Our next meeting will be:
MONDAY, MAY 19th
7:00pm
Same place as last meeting (lower level of Coffman, by Einsten Bros/Cafeteria)
Please bring your Ovaltine ideas, I hope you all have lots to share! It might be a little chaotic because some teams didn't work out so well and we have a few new people that will need to get into teams, etc. However, we are planning on just sharing our work for most of the meeting, so be prepared! We will NOT be collecting fees at this meeting... so no worries right now.
If you cannot make it to this meeting, just make sure someone in your group has your work so they can show it to us.
Thanks! Hope to see you all there!
Alicia & Nat
P.S. If you're new and don't have Ovaltine ideas for the meeting, just come willing to give some feedback for others' work.
Any questions, email us at umnoneclub@gmail.com

More Ovaltine... Please?
Hello there! Sorry I didn't post this sooner... busy, busy, busy!
Our client that we got at our April 3rd meeting was Ovaltine, favorite beverage of 1950s tv, screechy kids, and our lovely co-president Natalie!

"But what IS Ovaltine?" you ask? Well, according to my best friend Wiki, Ovaltine is a brand of milk flavoring product made with sugar (except in Switzerland), malt extract, cocoa, and whey. It also contains a bunch of vitamins and such, but you can look up all of that info. on your own.
I hope you're all working your little hearts out and perhaps trying the beverage. (Don't worry, that is not a requirement for this club.) But, if you'd like to try some, I am sure Nat might have some for your tasting pleasure.
I'll leave you with a charming old Ovaltine commercial:
Peace out,
Alicia

WANT TO JOIN?
Do you want to be an advertising creative?
Are you in desperate need for work to put in your portfolio?
Are you a hard worker?
If you answered yes, you should consider joining our group! We will be holding our first meeting on Thursday, April 3rd at 8:15 pm in a location TBD. We will post more information when we find out where it will be.
At the meeting, we will be splitting up into teams of Art Directors and Copywriters and we will be receiving our first client! HOORAY!
Just so you all know, there IS a fee to be a part of the club. $88, while it may seem to be a lot, is a great deal considering everything you get:
-a copy of the One Show annual (which costs somewhere around $65 on its own and is an AWESOME way to have access to a lot of great creative work)
-a one-year subscription to one. a magazine
-full access to the One Show Archive online
-an individual online portfolio page
-invitations to One Club events (including portfolio reviews!)
-discounted prices on One Show tickets
-your individual name listed in the Student Chapter section on The One Club website.
-the opportunity to hang out with cool cats like us!
This fee will last an entire year, it is not a per-semester fee. We will continue meeting in the summer as well, so if you'll be in Minneapolis, this would be a great way to continue your portfolio work!
If you have any questions, feel free to email me (Alicia Houselog) at aliciahouselog@gmail.com or Natalie Maiser at maise012@umn.edu.
I'll leave you with a little video that made me chuckle.
That is all,
Alicia.
